Education as all parents and guardians admit, is a long term investment with an equally long gestation period.
It is also one of the best legacies to bequeath to individuals, groups and society, that has been the belief of Dr. Muritala Alimi Ote-Sese the Sarkin Yoruba of Kano, donated a quarter million naira (N250,000), as scholarship to three members of the Sports Writers Association, Kano State chapter in other to get admission to further their studies.
The Sarki Yoruba of Kano Dr. Muritala Alimi, said the main objective of the educational assistance is to provide an opportunity for courses that are relevant to the field of journalism to Members of the association.l
The sport enthusiast in Kano and the country described the assistance as part of social corporate responsibilities to the society.
On his part the former chairman of the association and current national Ex-officio, Lurwanu Idris Malikawa Garu (Dagacin Malikawa) expressed appreciation the gesture of SWAN patron.
Malikawa call on those who were opportune to receive the educational assistance to be good ambassadors wherever they find themselves and to put efforts in their studies by graduating with good grades.
On his part the chairman of the association, Kano State chapter, Zahradeen Saleh commended the Sarkin Yoruba of Kano for supporting some of his members in pursuing their studies.
