A retired civil servant in Kano state has donated his entire gratuity to support the construction of Jumat mosque in his community of Shangu in Rano local government of Kano state.
In a press statement issued by the zonal information Zonal Rabiu Khalil Kura
The pensioner Alhaji Bello Abdullahi (Sarkin Shangu Murabus)announce the donation through his son Alhaji Abdullahi Bello the village Head of Shangu, maintained that, the provision of the mosque will serve as a center for inculcating correct Islamic Knowledge and moral discipline to young generation.
Speaking during a formal notification of the donation at the emir of Rano palace Alhaji Abdullahi Bello told the emir that the gratuity amount to about N5 million.
According to Abdullahi Bello, beside notifying the emir about the donation they were also at palace to seek the emir”s permission and blessings for the mosque’s construction project
In his remarks the emir of Rano His Highness Ambassador Muhammad Isa Umaru, granted permission for the committee to proceed with the mosque’s construction.
The emir commended the pensioner
“Alh. Bello Abdullahi for his generosity and commitment to the community development , also emphasized the importance of involving all members of the community in the project and expressed his support for the initiative.
“The emirate is ready to support any effort for the cause of Islam,” said Dr. Muhammad Isa Umaru, Emir of Rano.
The construction of the Jumaat mosque is expected to benefit the community in Shangu and surrounding areas.
The project aims to provide a conducive place of worship and promote community development.
