He reiterated the importance of youth involvement and private sector investment in sustainable tourism, emphasizing that this year’s theme aligns with the global drive for economic transformation through eco-friendly and culturally rooted tourism models.

The event was graced by prominent personalities including a representative of His Highness, the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, in the person of Tafidan Kano, Alhaji Abdullahi Lamido Sanusi, as well as senior officials from various federal security agencies.

A paper presentation was delivered by Dr. Maisara Nuhu Wali, on the topic: The Importance of Tourism and Indigenous Culture in National Development.

His paper underscored how cultural preservation and tourism advancement can drive economic growth, foster unity, and promote Nigeria’s image on the international stage.

The 45th World Tourism Day celebration in Kano marked a significant milestone in the state’s journey towards becoming a hub for cultural tourism, sustainable development, and youth empowerment.OM
