The Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, has been honored with the prestigious award for “Best State Coordination and Response to Pilgrims by Independent Hajj Reporters.
This recognition was conferred to him for his exemplary leadership, dedication and effective coordination in managing pilgrim related activities.
His efforts include the Kano State Government’s intervention in subsidizing the Hajj fare for pilgrims, undertaking a comprehensive renovation of the Hajj Camp and ensuring that no pilgrim was left behind in Saudi Arabia.
The Kano pilgrims were well-coordinated, with provisions for feeding, accommodation, transportation, and health facilities, among others.
The award acknowledges Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa’s outstanding commitment to ensuring the safety, comfort and welfare of pilgrims during their spiritual journey.
He was represented at the ceremony by the Director of Hajj Operations, Alhaji Kabiru Muhd Panda, who highlighted Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u’s dedication and exceptional service deliveries.
Under his leadership, the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board successfully implemented a comprehensive coordination strategy that streamlined operations, enhanced communication and provided timely assistance to pilgrims in need.

The award ceremony took place today at the Abuja Central Mosque, where dignitaries, religious leaders, and government officials gathered to celebrate the achievements of those who have made significant contributions to the welfare of pilgrims.
Director General Lamin Rabi’u’s efforts have been widely praised for setting a new standard in pilgrimage management and response.
This accolade reinforces the State Pilgrims Welfare Board’s commitment to excellence and underscores his role as a leader in providing support and services to pilgrims.
Consequently, the chairman Nigeria Union of Journalist Kano council comrade sulaiman Abdullahi Deideri was as well conferred with the award as the best Hajj reporter of the year 2024
Meanwhile, the state council of the Nigeria union of journalists has rejoiced with the celebrant over the milestone and prayed for Allah’s blessings and continue guidance.
