The Dala Local Government Council has launched a comprehensive Anthrax vaccination campaign for livestock at Kano KARA Abbatoir.
The initiative is aimed at protecting animal health and safeguarding the public against potential outbreak of zoonotic disease.
In a press statement issued by the information officer Hassan Aminu.
While Speaking at the occasion the Council, Chairman Alhaji Surajo Ibrahim Imam, described the vaccination program as a critical step toward improving the health and livelihood of the Community.
He commended Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for prioritizing agricultural and health interventions aimed at improving the welfare of its citizens.
A Veterinary Doctor, zonal director Dr Jummai Abdurrahman emphasized the importance of adherence to vaccination guidelines.
She said animals showing symptoms of illness or pregnancy are excluded from the vaccination.

Similarly animals intended for slaughter within two weeks are exempted from the vaccination.
Symptoms of Anthrax in animals include bleeding from the nose and eyes and that the disease can spread to humans through contact or consumption of infected meat.
The Head of the Agricultural Department, Alhaji Baffa Abdulkadir, described the initiative as a proactive step toward securing public health and enhancing agricultural productivity.
The Sarkin Fawa of Kano ,Alhaji Isiyaku Ali Muli, acknowledged the government’s efforts to safeguard the meat industry.
He therefore called on Livestock owners to bring their animals to the designated centres for the inoculation.
