Ungogo Local Government has successfully commenced the distribution of 348,900 mosquito nets as part of its ongoing efforts to combat malaria and improve public health across the area.
The official flag-off ceremony was held at Kadawa Primary Health Care Centre and presided over by the Chairman of Ungogo Local Government, Alhaji Tijjani Amiru Bilyaminu, who described the mosquito nets as a free intervention aimed at protecting households from malaria.

Speaking on behalf of the Chairman, Deputy Speaker of the Council, Sani Adamu, commended the state government and donor agencies for their continuous support and unwavering commitment to enhancing healthcare delivery in Ungogo.
Alhaji Tijjani Amiru Bilyaminu further urged all stakeholders and members of the distribution committee to remain transparent, accountable, and dedicated to ensuring the success of the initiative.
Earlier, the Primary Health Care Coordinator, Sani Abdullahi Bagwai, and the Malaria Control Officer, Sani Haruna Minjibir, reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying efforts toward the program’s objectives and ensuring effective mosquito net utilization across the community.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including the Village Head of Kadawa, Muntari Ali, the Supervisory Councillor for Health, Shafiu Hussain Kura, as well as representatives from the state government and donor agencies.
Meanwhile, beneficiaries such as Hajara Musa Kadawa, a pregnant woman from Kadawa, expressed their gratitude for the initiative and pledged to make proper use of the mosquito nets to protect themselves and their families from malaria.
