Dala Local Government Council has distributed twenty million naira Health Equipment to its hospitals and clinics across the area.
Distributing the equipment, Kano State Commissioner for Health, Dr Abubakar Labaran Yusuf reaffirmed the state Government commitment to continue to work with local government chairmen towards improving public health.
The Commissioner who was represented by the Director Health Services in the Ministry, Dr Shehu Abdullahi commended the chairman of Dala Local Government, Alh Surajo Ibrahim Imam for his passion towards improving health
services in the area.
He therefore promised to offer permanent and pensionable appointments to voluntary and casual staff in Dala area in appreciation of their sacrifice.
In his speech, the Chairman of Dala local government, Alh Surajo Ibrahim Imam said the twenty million naira was donated by an Elder Statesman and international business magnet, Alh Aminu Alhassan Dantata when the Council members paid him a courtesy visit at his Koki residence recently.
The Council therefore decided to purchase the health equipment as a matter of priority for the improvement of public health.
He further disclosed plans by the local government to upgrade its hospitals and clinics to the required standard.
He thanked Alh Aminu Dantata for the humanitarian gesture.
Earlier, the Primary Health Care Coordinator of the area, Alh Lawan Ibrahimin Getso said that since his assumption of office as the elected chairman of Dala Local Government, Alh Surajo Ibrahim Imam has been giving priority to the health sector.
He therefore urged health personnel in Dala local government to reciprocate the gesture by making judicious use of the equipment provided in their hospital by the Council.
Others who spoke at the occasion, include NNPP Leader in Dala area Alh Daiyabu Ahmed Maiturare and the Director from Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board Hajia Makkatu Abdulkadir who represented the executiive secretary of the Board Dr Nasir Mahmud.
