Nuj Kano council commends delegates/Observers on successful Election

Kano State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists Commends Delegates and Observers Following Successful National Conference

Comrade Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, Chairman of the Kano State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has expressed deep gratitude to the delegates and observers from Kano who participated in the 8th National Delegates Conference held in Owerri, Imo State. 

The commendation comes after returning from the successful event, which saw them travel over 940 kilometers (586 miles) to attend the important gathering.

In a statement issued by Comrade Abubakar Shehu Kwaru, Secretary of the Kano State Council of the NUJ, highlighted that Comrade Dederi made the remark upon returning from the trip, which took place from Monday to Friday. 

He praised the exemplary conduct and professionalism exhibited by the Kano delegates and observers throughout the journey, which contributed significantly to the successful election of the newly elected President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Alhasan Yahaya, and his Deputy, Dr. Abimbola Oyetunde, along with other executive members.

Comrade Dederi also took the opportunity to acknowledge the vital support received from the Kano State Government, particularly Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and his Deputy, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo. 

He expressed appreciation for the contributions made by the Commissioner for Information, Baba Halilu Dantiye, as well as the Director General of Media to the Governor, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, members of Owerri 2024 commitee under the leadership of Comrade Usman Bello and everyone else who played a role in facilitating the success of the trip.

Comrade Dederi extended heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected National President, Comrade Alhasan Yahaya, and the Deputy, Dr. Abimbola Oyetunde, emphasizing that their recent election is a testament to their dedication, zeal, and unwavering commitment to advancing the welfare of journalists across the nation.

“The successful election of Comrade Alhasan Yahaya as President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists symbolizes the collective resolve of journalists to strive for excellence and uphold integrity in our profession,” stated Comrade Dederi.

As the Kano State Council of the NUJ moves forward, they remain committed to providing support and advocacy for journalists, fostering a collaborative environment, and maintaining the highest standards within the industry.
