Africa health Budget network in partnership with a Uganda base NGO SAMASHA held a validation meeting for stakeholders on the motion tracker tool.
In his welcome remarks program manager AHBN Suleiman Jalo said that the stakeholders event was to acquit them on the motion tracker tool in capturing the family planning 2030 commitments
Jalo added that this will make policy makers to strengthen the accountability framework on family planning in curtailing maternal and new born death in the state.
In their good will messages, Various Stakeholders present appreciated the efforts of the AHBN as the event was timely in pushing for ways to crush maternal and neonatal death in the state through have a strengthened family planning accountability mechanisms.
AHBN consultant Aqibu Hamisu making his presentation, took the participants through the family planning commitments, show- casing the progress achieved or not.
The facilitator, then presented challenges and bottle necks that need to be overcome to have a strengthened FP accountability framework for the state.
Participants were then divided into groups for brainstorming to bring on board additional inputs and recommendations regarding to the FP 2030 commitments.
The motion tracker is originally developed by SAMASHA a global sub NGO base in Uganda is a tool to understand and track global FP commitments into action, while AHBN leads in Nigeria for implementation of the motion tracker to monitor the FP.
The event was graced by Government officials, Development partners, NGO, CSOs, Youth groups, Professional medical bodies and the media.
