The Honourable Minister of State for Defence, His Excellency Dr Bello Muhammad Matawalle MON, the Matawallen Maradun, paid a courtesy visit to the Theatre Command Headquarters Joint Task Force (North West) Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY), after observing Juma’at prayer at the HQ Theatre Command Mosque on 14 November 2025.

In his welcome address, the Theatre Commander Major General Warrah Bello Idris, expressed appreciation to the Honourable Minister for the visit, describing it as a gesture that reaffirms the Federal Government’s unwavering commitment to supporting ongoing operations in the North West.
During the visit, the Honourable Minister commended the troops for their dedication, courage, and sacrifice in the fight against criminal elements across the theatre.
He encouraged them to remain resilient, vigilant, and focused as efforts intensify to restore lasting peace and stability in the region.
His Excellency Dr Matawalle further reiterated the Federal Government’s assurance to provide the necessary support through the provision of resources, logistics, and improved welfare needed to sustain operational momentum.
He also praised the leadership of the Theatre Command for the successes recorded so far and emphasized the importance of continued synergy among all security agencies.
Highlights of the visit included the presentation of souvenirs to the Honourable Minister, briefing by the Theatre Commander on ongoing activities of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, and an address to troops during which the Minister expressed deep appreciation for their professionalism and committed service to the nation.
