The Kano State Agency for Mass Education has reaffirmed its commitment to reducing street trading (popularly known as Yan Talla) by expanding access to education across the state.
The Executive Secretary of the Agency, Dr. Binta Abubakar, made this known during the official flag-off of a special educational programme for street traders at Kwari Market in Fagge Local Government Area.
Dr. Binta Abubakar stated that the initiative aligns with the Kano State Government’s broader agenda to improve educational standards and ensure inclusive access to learning opportunities for all citizens.
She emphasized the government’s determination to establish functional learning centres in every nook and corner of the state, particularly targeting underserved populations.

According to her, the programme is designed to empower street traders with basic education and skills that will enable them to compete effectively in society and improve their livelihoods.
She further assured that the Agency, under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, will continue to implement policies and programmes that promote human capital development and social inclusion.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Kwari Market, Alhaji Muhammadu Sharif Malam, expressed appreciation for the initiative and pledged the full support and cooperation of the market leadership to ensure its success.
He described the programme as timely and appropriate, noting that it would significantly benefit traders and contribute to the overall development of the community.
