Humanitarian Commissioner, Adamu Aliyu Kibiya, in his official engagement visited Dorayi Babba Psychiatric Center and Shahuchi Old People’s Home.

The statement said the historic visit demonstrates the Commissioner’s commitment to Humanitarian causes and his dedication to improving the lives of vulnerable individuals in Kano State.

Accompanied by the Executive Secretary of SEMA, Alh Abdullahi Isyaku Kubarachi, Directors of the Ministry, and Directors of SEMA, Honourable Kibiya assessed the condition, shelter, and food provided to the residents. Abdullahi Kubarachi praised the Commissioner, noting that he was the first Commissioner to inspect the condition of patients and their caretakers.

During the inspection, Honourable Kibiya thanked the caretakers for their excellent work and commended their dedication.

He also inspected the hostels to evaluate the sleeping environment and the kitchen to ensure adequate food supply and proper hygiene.

Honourable Adamu Kibiya assured the residents that the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, established by the Humanitarian Executive Governor of Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, is committed to supporting vulnerable individuals across the state.

He promised to submit a report to the Executive Governor, highlighting the need for renovations and reconstruction of the centers.

Furthermore, Honourable Kibiya pledged to forward the names of casual staff for permanent employment, enabling them to work more effectively.

Both patients and caretakers were assured of immediate changes, as the present Administration prioritizes the welfare of vulnerable individuals in the state.

Malam Al Hassan, In-charge of the Center, expressed gratitude to the Honourable Commissioner Kibiya for his kind gesture and promised to work tirelessly for the patients.
