Ungogo Local Government, in collaboration with the Ministry of Women Affairs, Children, and the Disabled, has organized a two-day training program on Community-Based Child Protection Structures (CBCPS).
In a press statement issued by the information officer Salisu kassim yakasai, he said the training, held at Ungogo Primary School, was facilitated by UNICEF.
The Chairman of Ungogo Local Government, Alhaji Tijjani Amiru Bilyamu, represented by the Head of Community Development Department, Muhammad Umar Adam, emphasized on the importance of the training in eradicating child protection issues in the society.
He urged participants to take the program seriously to achieve better results.
The representative of the Ministry of Women and Children, Faisal Kabir Ahmed highlighted the program’s objective was to terminate rape, domination, and trafficking of children, and to raise awareness through community campaigns.
He called on self-help groups, youth associations, and traditional leaders to unite against these issues and to solve the problems in the society.
The representative of the State Primary Health Care co-ordinator Ado Sanda emphasized on the collaboration between health workers, social workers, community leaders, traditional leaders, and security agencies to protect the lives and health of children in the area.
