President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to fostering a conducive learning environment across Nigeria’s tertiary institutions, aiming to equip the youth with critical skills, expertise, and practical knowledge.
The President made the assertion during the official commissioning of the 2024 Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) High Impact Intervention project a newly constructed and fully furnished Classrooms Complex at the Hussaini Adamu Federal Polytechnic (HAFEDPOLY) in Kazaure, Jigawa State.
Representing the President at the event, the Chairman of the institution’s Governing Council, Dr. Halimat Jummai Kperogi, emphasized that the new complex is a direct response to the challenge of inadequate classroom spaces.

“This complex will provide a more conducive environment for academic activities, enhance effective learning, and improve the overall educational experience for both staff and students,” Dr. Kperogi stated.
She added that the intervention aligns with the administration’s drive to empower the nation’s youth for productivity and leadership.
Dr. Kperogi also urged the institution’s management to ensure the judicious maintenance of the facility, promising that more developmental breakthroughs under the Tinubu administration await Nigerians.
Expressing his gratitude, the Acting Rector of the Polytechnic, Engineer Dr. Bashir Ahmed Danzomo, noted that the project arrived at a critical time given the institution’s growing student population.
Dr. Danzomo stated that the intervention aligns perfectly with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
He assured the Federal Government of the strict maintenance of the complex to sustain the polytechnic’s reputation as a center of academic excellence in the North-West geopolitical zone.
During his address, the Acting Rector also extended appreciation to local stakeholders for their continuous support:
Senator Babangida Hussaini (Walin Kazaure): Commended for his continuous “gigantic interventions” to the polytechnic.
Hon. Mansur Dabuwa (Kazaure LG Chairman): Appreciated for sponsoring local students across various specialized courses.
Dr. Danzomo urged other local government chairmen to emulate this gesture.
While celebrating the new classrooms, the Governing Council Secretary and Registrar of the Polytechnic, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Muhammad, appealed to TETFund for further infrastructure support to bolster technological advancement.
Alhaji Muhammad listed critical areas requiring urgent attention, including:
Modern Laboratories and Workshops,Advanced ICT Facilities, Student Hostels, Robust Research Infrastructure
Ensuring the quality of the project, the Chief Consultant, Quantity Surveyor Auwalu Sani Shehu of Kams and Partners Limited, confirmed that state-of-the-art facilities were deployed to ensure durability.
He also commended federal initiatives like TETFund and the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) for transforming the educational sector.
The impact of the new facility was echoed by the Dean of the School of Administration and General Studies, Malama Hasiya Ibrahim, who noted that the complex directly addresses long-standing lecture space deficiencies.
“With the high caliber of leadership currently in this institution, we are confident that more developmental projects will follow, allowing us to maintain our role as a leading citadel for skills acquisition and self-reliance,” Ibrahim said.

The commissioning ceremony was well-attended by prominent members of the academic community, including the Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. Bello Sani Manzon; the Bursar, Sulaiman Haruna Wanka; representatives from the Kazaure Emirate Council; as well as directors, deans, department heads, and students.
