A Nutrition Committee has been inaugurated in Madobi Local Government Area.
The committee will be responsible for raising public awareness about the importance of consuming nutritious food to improve public health.
The six-members committee includes the Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Sulaiman Dan Azumi as Chairman, and Aminu Surajo Rogo, Head of Primary Health Care, as Secretary. Other members include heads of departments for Community Development, Water and Sanitation, Agriculture, and Works and Education secretary.
In his speech, the Chairman of the Council, Hon. Sulaiman Dan Azumi, urged the committee members to work hard and remain committed to achieving the set goals.
Dan Azumi stated that the committee will monitor efforts to ensure that every community and village has access to nutritious food that will improve public health.

On his part, the Head of Primary Health Care, Aminu Surajo Rogo, said there are trained officers in hospitals who specialize in nutrition, and they will continue to raise awareness, especially among pregnant women, teaching them how to prepare nutritious meals for themselves and their children.
He further promised that the department would do its best to monitor and educate the public on the importance of eating nutritious food to promote children’s health and prevent diseases caused by malnutrition.
