The Kano State Ministry of Women Affairs, Children, and Persons with Disabilities has commended the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, Kano State Chapter (NAWOJ) for its continuous efforts toward promoting women’s health, empowerment, and public awareness.
Representing the Honourable Commissioner, Hajiya Amina Abdullahi Hod, her representative Hajiya Nafi Muhammad Yakasai praised NAWOJ for organizing impactful programmes such as the recent Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign for women journalists in Kano.
She further applauded the Aminu Magashi Foundation (AMG) for sponsoring the breast cancer seminar and for its support to women’s health programmes across the state.
She noted that AMG’s interventions have significantly contributed to improving access to health information and services, especially for women and children.
Hajiya Nafi Muhammad Yakasai also hailed Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his tireless support to women, children, and persons with disabilities, describing the appointment of Hajiya Amina Abdullahi Hod as well deserved.
She emphasized that the Commissioner remains committed to advancing women’s development and strengthening partnerships with organizations that promote their welfare.
In her remarks, the Chairperson of NAWOJ Kano Chapter, Comrade Bahijja Malam Kabara, expressed deep appreciation to the Ministry for its recognition and readiness to collaborate.
She reaffirmed NAWOJ’s commitment to enhancing public enlightenment on women related matters and to working with government agencies, NGOs, and donor partners to support the development of women and children across Kano State.
