The Kano State Government is set to launch the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Emblem Appeal Fund on Wednesday, January 7 at the Coronation Hall, Government House, by 2:00 PM.
This was disclosed by the Director General, Special Services Directorate, Major General S. Muhammad (Rtd), during a press briefing held at the Government House today.

He announced a lineup of activities marking the Remembrance Day, including:
Special Juma’at Prayers on Friday, January 9 at 3 Brigade Jumaat Mosque, Bukavu Barracks by 1 PM.
Special Church Service on Sunday, January 11, at the Protestant Church, NAF Base Service, Kano.
-The Wreath Laying Ceremony will hold on Thursday, January 15 2026 at the new Armed Forces Remembrance site in Dotsa Village, along Zaria Road, by 9:00 AM.
Major General Muhammad commended the security agencies for their unwavering dedication to safeguarding lives and property in the state and across the nation.
He further appealed to wealthy individuals, corporate organisations, families, and friends to support the Emblem Appeal Fund in honour of the sacrifices made by Nigeria’s fallen heroes.
