Kano State Community of Practice (CoP) on immunization budget tracking, accountability and sustainability targeting Zero Dose Children and Missed Communities held its quarterly review meeting on Saturday, 28th September, 2024 at Africa Health Budget Network Building in Kano.

In a press statement issued by the zero dose learning hub (ZDLH) knowledge management officer suleiman jalo said the meeting assessed the work implemented since the inauguration of the CoP, identified challenges encountered and explored ways to improve ongoing efforts to addressing the burden of Zero Dose Children in Kano State.

Making his presentation, Dr. Musa Muhammad Bello, State Focal Person, Zero Dose Learning Hub project, highlighted some key achievements of the CoP since inception which includes advocacy to ministry of planning and budget, Kano State House of Assembly Committee on Health among others and advocated for more immunization funds.e

He further highlighted some challenges and recommendations.

The AHBN Coordinator, Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba who graced the meeting, tasked the CoP members to redouble their advocacy for the increase in immunization funding and accountability to ensure no child is left behind the immunization coverage.

The CoP is an initiative of Africa Health Budget Network (AHBN) established under the Zero Dose Learning Hub project being implemented by AHBN and AFENET.

The CoP was established in Bauchi, Borno, Kano and Sokoto States to address immunization gap and reduce the burden of Zero Dose Children and reach the missed communities.
