The Kano State Government, through the Ministry for Religious Affairs, has organized a one-day seminar to raise awareness about the law mandating HIV and other transmissible diseases testing before marriage.

In a press statement issued by the public relations officer, ministry for religious affairs Sani Muhammad Sadiq.
The seminar, led by Commissioner Hon. Ahmad Tijjani Auwalu, brought together Imams from 44 local government areas to educate them on the importance of pre-marital testing.
Expert lectures were delivered by a Doctor, Lawyer, and Islamic Scholar, highlighting the risks of transmitting diseases like HIV and sickle cell to offspring.
The Imams and Ulamas are expected to disseminate this information to their communities during Friday sermons, Islamic schools, and gatherings.
The Commissioner expressed gratitude to the Governor for supporting the seminar and appreciated the attendance of imams and Ulamas for their participation.
